Review: Brainskinz Bike Helmet

By Jenny Steadman September 9, 2016
I was provided product for review. Opinions are strictly my own.

Kids need head protection and they also need to fulfill their sense of style.

My almost-9-year-old has had a bike helmet with pink fairies on it for years. When the plastic cover fell off, she was more than delighted to wear just the black base. "I don't do pink anymore," she says.

Brainskinz fills both of these needs, function and form. Founded by two dads, Brainskinz Helmet Systems offers different shells so your kid's helmet can look different every day of the week!

Brainskinz comes with a black base that is comfortably outfitted with soft, satiny padding, an adjustable clasp-style chinstrap, and a dial-fit that perfectly conforms to a child’s head. The base helmet meets safety testing requirements for bicycling and skateboarding, and can be worn with or without a shell. The shell, though, is where the fun comes in.

Brainskinz currently offers 6 different shell designs, Bandana, Flower Power, Green Camo, Monster Eyes (pictured), Pink Camo and Skull & Wings. You can see what they look like here.

We received two different shells and my daughter loves that she has three helmets now- plain black (with no shell), Bandana and Skull & Wings.
