Berry Cherry Smoothies!

Smoothalicious!

February 17, 2012

When I’m in a hurry to get a quick lunch, post workout or an after school snack for the kids; smoothies are my go-to meals.  They are convenient, healthy, a great way to get protein and a serving (or two) of fruit and really convenient! I usually ask my kids: what color smoothie would you like today?  My daughter’s favorite is what she calls the Pinkalicious smoothie.  I don’t mind making it all the time because it’s loaded with protein and antioxidants.  Thanks to readily available frozen fruit, this smoothie can be enjoyed year round.

Garnish: a couple of Maraschino cherries.

Directions:
1.      Blend strawberries, cherries, yogurt, juice and sweetener until smooth.

MOM Tip: Did you know you can blend a smoothie in the morning and pour it inside a chilled stainless thermos to be enjoyed at lunch time? My kids love to take smoothies to school!
