A Letter from the Managing Editor: What Are You Reading?

By Jenny Steadman April 8, 2016
I love publishing this newsletter. I spend the month gathering content, taking suggestions from you and I try to put together solid information that will help you and your family on your path to wellness. This monthly column is to let you know I am here with you! I'm a mom with young children and a crazy schedule; I don't get enough sleep and have trouble eating well. We are in this together and, as a team, we can improve our lives, our families and our communities.

I may be a bit obsessed with health books. Whether it is nutrition or lifestyle-based, I get sucked in. There are so many amazing resources available and everyone has something different to offer. I love to look at different view points and see how certain tips and lifestyles have helped people in different ways.

I have two books on my bedside table right now:
  • The Urban Monk: Eastern Wisdom and Modern Hacks to Stop Time and Find Success, Happiness, and Peace by Pedram Shojai
  • Eat Fat, Get Thin: Why the Fat We Eat Is the Key to Sustained Weight Loss and Vibrant Health by Dr. Mark Hyman
One is helping me find ways to bring peace and calming into my otherwise busy urban life and the other is offering me some pretty amazing nutrition advice with the newest science out there!

What are you reading? Do you have a nutrition or lifestyle book that has revolutionized your life?

Until next time,

Jenny
