A Letter from the Managing Editor: It's Full-On Summer So, Enjoy!

By Jenny Steadman July 8, 2016
I love publishing this newsletter. I spend the month gathering content, taking suggestions from you and I try to put together solid information that will help you and your family on your path to wellness. This monthly column is to let you know I am here with you! I'm a mom with young children and a crazy schedule; I don't get enough sleep and have trouble eating well. We are in this together and, as a team, we can improve our lives, our families and our communities.

By now, the last of my friends have posted their last-day-of-school photos on Facebook and everyone is officially on summer break.

I realize that summer break from school does not mean a break for everyone. Many parents and caregivers have full-time jobs and kids are in camp and at daycare to fill the void of the school day. Others are home with their kids all summer long and are wondering how they are going to survive so much time together.

Whether you are home during the day or at work, the nights are bright and the sun is shining, enjoy your family! Get outside! Go on adventures! Be risk-takers (as my kids would say)! I could go on and on, but instead I am going to share this wonderful article by Sharon Holbrook: Savoring Summers When The Kids Are Home (Without Driving Each Other Crazy). It's a great read and I think one that any parent can relate to.

Until next time,

Jenny
