Cake Lingerie - A Maternity Sports Bra for the Nursing Mom

A Review

By Jenny Steadman January 17, 2014
Before I was pregnant with my now 6-year-old, I was at the gym all of the time. I admit I didn't do a good job of working out while I was pregnant. Then she was born and, well, hello milk! A nursing mom I became and quickly none of my bras fit, let alone a sports bra that was both supportive yet also wasn't constricting. I didn't feel comfortable doing any kind of cardio workout. Quite frankly, it hurt. Add that my daughter may need to nurse and without having a nursing bra on, well, things just got complicated.

When I was contacted by Cake Lingerie about the launch of Orange Zest, the 1st Structured Nursing Sports Bra, I was definitely intrigued. They sent me a bra and panty set to review and I am truly impressed. The fabric is incredibly soft and breathable (the cup-lining is 100% cotton). The over-shoulder straps are thick enough to be supportive yet thin enough to be sexy. The underwire is flexible for comfortable support. There are six different hook-and-eye sizes in the back to accommodate your changing shape. And, of course, for the ease of nursing, each cup snaps open easily with a folded edge for discreet nursing. The sporty boy short panties, a nylon-elastane blend, are equally as soft.

"There is a rise in women keen to maintain their fitness levels and get back into shape during their pregnancies and post-birth," stated Cake Lingerie founder, Tracey Montford. "Created to lift and shape, Orange Zest encompasses rather than compresses for a secure, comfortable and supportive fit, promoting Healthy Mom, Healthy Baby!"
