Real Life Fitness Stories: April

We Want to Hear From YOU!

May 12, 2017

We want to hear from you! If you've jumped on the bandwagon, you can inspire others to do the same. Whether you're a personal trainer or play Wii Fit with your kids, you're part of the family fitness revolution. If you've made fitness a priority for you and your family, we want to know about it. I want to feature your story, your successes, challenges, and tips.

All you have to do is answer these questions and email the answers to jennys@macaronikid.com. Please send a photo we can use too.

Can't wait to hear from you and be inspired by YOUR story!

What is your name and what town are you from?

Who makes up your family?

Briefly, tell us your struggles. What was the turning point that made you change the way you care for yourself?

How have you implemented (or plan to) your new habits with your family?

This month's story is brought to you by April.

Hi! I am April Sears, a nurse practitioner and Herbalife wellness coach from New Albany, Indiana. In 2015, I found myself overweight and exhausted. The stress of grad school had taken a toll. I was told I was "pre-diabetic" and noticed my blood pressure was getting higher with every check. I was finally done with school and had lost my excuses for not taking care of myself. Plus, I was now a nurse practitioner and felt it was my responsibility to be a good example for my patients. I was determined to get in better health.

I started working out most days and tried healthy eating and meal replacement products but I was not getting the results I wanted. My mom (who is in the picture with me) introduced me to Herbalife’s nutrition line and we did our first weight loss challenge together that summer. Through these online weight loss challenges and being connected with the Herbalife family through our local fit-camps, I lost 50 pounds and 15% body fat in 8 months! Plus, I feel so much better. My energy is through the roof! Thank goodness because shortly after this I met Patrick, who is a personal trainer, and his 4-year-old daughter Lola, who keeps me busy. Now my whole family is on the products, including Lola who still thinks they're milkshakes. I am now competing in my first body transformation competition which is just in time for our wedding that is coming up.

Patrick and I have found our passion in helping other people feel great and reach their health goals. He trains people and I share everything I know about nutrition. We have started our own business, Sawyers Fit Family, and can be found on YouTube and Facebook. The best part is that we are active as a family. We do family yoga, gymnastics, and make workout videos together. This dedication to living a healthy, active lifestyle has not only helped us be good examples for Lola, but we are also improving the health of our community.
