Kristi, Jupiter, Fla.

Who makes up your family?

Me, my husband, our 1-year-old son, and our dog.

Tell us about your struggles.

Being patient with my postpartum fitness journey while balancing the new responsibilities of motherhood with my fitness goals, my career, time with my husband, time for my workouts, cooking healthy food (for us and my son!), and just taking time for myself. 

What was the turning point that made you change the way you care for yourself?

After having a C-section, I really learned how to listen to my body. I hardly took rest days pre-baby and always pushed myself to the max during each workout. After such a major surgery, I realized I needed to take things slowly. I needed to let my body heal and ease myself back into shape, which was a challenge, but it's what my body needed. 

How have you implemented your new habits with your family?

I listened to my body, eased my way back into working out and healthy eating, and have lost all of my baby weight! It wasn't easy but I took it day by day and if I had to cut a workout short when my baby got up from his nap, so be it. At least I got something in!
