A Letter From the Managing Editor: Let the Season Change Guide You

By Jenny Steadman September 8, 2017

I love publishing this newsletter. I spend the month gathering content, taking suggestions from you and I try to put together solid information that will help you and your family on your path to wellness. This monthly column is to let you know I am here with you! I'm a mom with young children and a crazy schedule; I don't get enough sleep and have trouble eating well. We are in this together and, as a team, we can improve our lives, our families and our communities.

September. So much comes with September. The kids are back in school, after-school activities are kicking into gear, homework is starting to pile up, we push for an earlier bedtime and struggle to get dinner on the table. For full-time working parents, maybe the transition isn't as abrupt. I know from personal experience working from home, it feels like hitting a brick wall and having to start all over with schedules and routines.

While this can prove to be difficult, we have one thing going for us and that is the season change. I know not all of you experience fall like we do here in Ohio, but there should be some kind of temperature/season transition for most of you. This change in season is a great time for our bodies to also transition and make new habits. Embrace the changing season and use it to your advantage! Now is a great time to set goals for yourself and your family both physically and mentally. A great place to start is our Back-to-School Challenge!

Enjoy!

Until next month,

Jenny
